The spectacular landscape of the High Coast consists of a beautiful archipelago and a vast hinterland. This piece of Sweden is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has the highest coastline in the world with an elevation of approximately 286 meters above sea level. Due to a geological process (post-glacial land uplift) that has taken place since the most recent ice age, the land continues to rise at a rate of about 8 millimeters per year.
If you are a nature lover, you can indulge yourself with every imaginable outdoor activity: from hiking and climbing to water sports and skiing. The region is also interesting from a cultural point of view and you will find quite a few sights and places of historical importance. Highlights include ancient fishing villages and the famous Bronze Age petroglyphs of Nämforsen. A small supermarket is a 2-minute walk from the B&B and a fitness center and bowling alleys are 9 km away. A beach on the Gulf of Bothnia is a 10-minute walk away. There are also several national parks nearby. For the golfers among us, a beautiful 18-hole golf course is 5.4 km away.
